WALKER BURGE RITES FRIDAY

Walker R. Burge, 85, of 1212 First Ave., a former Iowa City resident, died early Wednesday morning, Aug. 22, at Grinnell General Hospital.

The son of J.M. and Mary Burge, he was born July 9, 1888, in Johnson County. On Nov. 22, 1930, he was married to Ora Fountain, also of Johnson County.

Mr. Burge is survived by his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Barbara) High of Edina, Minn. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two sisters, and three brothers.

Graveside services for Mr. Burge will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24, at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.

A memorial fund has been established at the Smith Funeral Home, should friends desire to contribute.
