ORA E. BURGE

Ora E. Burge, 88, of 1212 First Ave., Grinnell, died Thursday, March 3, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center.

A prayer service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Stan Kesler, pastor of the Faith Evangelical Church of Radcliffe, officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City.

She was the daughter of Charles Victor and Mary Krall Fountain and was born March 22, 1905, near Iowa City. She was raised on the family farm and attended rural school.

On Nov. 22, 1930, she was married to Walker R. Burge in Iowa City. They farmed near Iowa City until 1965 when they moved to Grinnell.

Mrs. Burge is survived by one daughter, Barbara Carlson of Eldora; two grandsons; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Norma Lenz of Peoria, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Burton Walker Burge; six brothers, Arnold, Ralph, Howard, Harley, Arthur and Clint Fountain; and two sisters, Elma Jerot and Agnes Walters.
