DR. RALPH BROOKER, LOCAL OSTEOPATH, SUCCUMBS SUDDENLY

Funeral services for Dr. Ralph E. Brooker of 1725 Broad Street, who died suddenly of a heart attack Sunday forenoon, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday from the First Congregational church.

Officiating will be the Rev. Robert Dewey, pastor. Friends may call at the James-Schalinske Funeral Home.

Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the Heart Fund.

A longtime Grinnell resident, Dr. Brooker spent his childhood in Earlham and Indianola, and was a graduate of Still College of Osteopathy in Des Moines.

During World War I, he served with the U.S. Army and in 1919 came to Grinnell where he established his practice as an osteopathic physician. He was active in his practice until the time of his death.

Dr. Brooker is survived by his widow, Hazel; his daughter, Janet Woodworth of Bay Village, Ohio; his son James of Green Bay, Wis.; four grandchildren; and three sisters--Mrs. Herman (Lucille) Buchner of Pomona, Calif; Mrs. Lelah Gebhardt of Mission, Texas; and Mrs. J.R. (Margarete) Snowberger of Brownsville, Texas.

His parents preceded him in death.
