CONDUCT SERVICES HERE TODAY FOR CARRIE DAWLEY, 95

Mrs. Carrie E. Dawley, 95, widow of Charles N. Dawley, died early Thursday morning at a Montezuma nursing home where she had made her home the last few years.

Funeral services were held this afternoon (Monday) from the Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Chester E. Custer, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Organ music was provided by Mrs. Esther Auman.

Serving as pallbearers were C.H. Dimit, Howard Hyde, Clayton Phelps, Raymond Norris, Frank Ritter, and Roy Strasser. Interment was in Hazelwood cemetery.

She was the daughter of George W. and Margaret A. Hennigan Baker was born in Dillsboro, Ind., on Sept. 18, 1868. She came to Grinnell in 1914. On Dec. 14, 1916, she was united in marriage with Charles N. Dawley at Oskaloosa and they made their home in Grinnell.

She was preceded in death by her parents and six brothers and sisters, as well as her husband in 1940.

Mrs. Dawley is survived by three step-children, Myron Dawley of Western Springs, Ill.; Mrs. Gerald (Ruth) Bingen of Racine, Wis., and Mrs. Cecil (Irma) Dean of Altadena, Calif. Also surviving are 10 step-grandchildren and 11 step-great-grandchildren; one nephew, Glenn Walker of Grinnell; and two nieces, Mrs. Clayton Millard of Casper, Wyo., and Mrs. Glen Frye of California.
