OBITUARY

DEZELL RICHARD SHULTZ

Dezell (Dizzy) Richard Shultz, son of John and Maude Lee Shultz, was born May 17, 1900, and departed this life in an automobile accident Dec. 20, 1956 at the age of 56 years, seven months and three days.

He was baptized and became a member of the Christian Church during his youth. Dec. 31, 1923 he was married to Bertie Bunnell Kilmer. The major portion of his married life was spent on farms in Poweshiek county. The past 17 years he spent on a farm near Montezuma.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, one brother and his wife who died Sept. 1, 1954.

Surviving relatives are, his step-children: Amos Kilmer of Deep River, Avis (Mrs. Carroll) Billman of Grinnell, Ada (Mrs. Evan) Allen of Staples, Minn. There are five sisters and two brothers: Mrs. Alma Van Norstrand of Mount Pleasant, Mich.; Myrtle (Mrs. Harry) Hartle of Albion, Mich.; Leas (Mrs. Earl) Norden of Monterey Park, Calif.; Imo (Mrs. Earl) Richardson of Albion, Mich.; Marjory (Mrs. James) Stanley of Council Bluffs; Forrest Shultz of Springboard, Mich.; and Wayne Shultz of Albion, Mich.

Also surviving are 12 step-grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Bramer funeral home in Brooklyn, Dec. 22, 1956. The service was conducted by the Rev. M.C. Shupe of Brooklyn. Pallbearers were Fred Kilmer, Harry Kilmer, Ralph Bailey, Elmer Billman, Marvin Billman, and Russell Kinzebach. Burial was in the IOOF cemetery at Brooklyn.
