WARREN STEVENSON

Warren Stevenson, 67, of Deep River, died Sept. 22 at the Montezuma Senior Home.

Warren was born Feb. 17, 1928 at Deep River, was graduated from Deep River High School in 1945, and briefly attended Iowa State University.

He married BettyLu Lewis Sept. 24, 1947 and farmed near Deep River until his retirement.

Warren was a lifelong member of Lafayette Lodge #52 AF & AM, where he was a 32nd degree Mason. He was always active in church and community affairs, serving as Sunday school teacher and parish council chairman in the Methodist Church and later the United Church of Deep River, and as a school board member and little league coach for many years.

Survivors include his son, David and daughter-in-law, Susan of Deep River, their children, Sara and Amy; his daughter, Susa Stevenson of Providence, and her children Stevenson and Abigail Waite; and cousin, Susie Wilks Cohen of Boston, Mass. He was preceded in death by his wife, BettyLu, and parents, Leamond and Eola Stevenson.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sept. 24 at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma with Rev. Ken Ferguson of the United Church of Deep River officiating.

Masonic Services were by the members of Lafayette Lodge #52 AF & AM, Montezuma.

Interment was at the Golden Rod Cemetery in Deep River.
