MRS. ELLA WETMORE PASSES.
-------------------------
Former Well Known Grinnell Lady Dies at the Home of Her Daughter In Los Angeles.

Ella L. Millington was born in Dodgeville, Wisconsin, on Jan. 13, 1856, and died May 29, 1923, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul McConnell, in Los Angeles, Calif.

Her illness was of several years' duration but she did not suffer and passed away peacefully early on Sabbath morning, July 29.

Born of sturdy New England parents, they wished to rear their family in the new country, so moved west into Minnesota near Chain Lakes, where she spent her early childhood.

Here the Indians roved and many battles were fought and the Great Indian Massacre took place near their home.

When a young woman, she moved with her parents to Mills county,Ia., where at the age of 20 years, she was married to Mr. G.E. Wetmore.

To this union were born three children, all of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Paul McConnell of Los Angeles, Calif., Ivyl L. Wetmore, of Winter Haven, Florida, and Mrs. L.H. Rinefort, of Grinnell.

Mr. Wetmore preceded her in death 19 years ago.

She was a devoted wife and mother, ever thoughtful for the welfare of her family and will be greatly missed by those who are left to mourn her loss.

Transcriber Note: Death dates of May 29 and July 29 are both mentioned in this obituary. I do not know which is correct.
