Found Dead When Team Reaches Daughter's Home.

Special to Times-Republican.

Grinnell, Dec. 5.--Death came without warning yesterday to Mr. Swartz (Swart), of this city, the aged father of Mrs. Clyde Chadwell, living in Jasper county six miles southwest of Gilman, who succumbed to heart disease while driving to his daughter's home.

Mr. Swartz (Swart), who had been visiting at the Chadwell home, had been to the Union chapel to deliver some articles for a Christmas bazaar. He was on his way to his daughter's home, and had stopped at the mail box to gather the family's mail.

Mrs. Chadwell, who was home assisting with the chores while her husband was in this city having some dental work done, thought it strange that her father should be so long on the way. Finally however, the team he had been driving showed up at the house. In the buggy, sitting upright, was the body of Mr. Swartz (Swart).

He had been dead but a short time. The mail taken from the mail box was found in the buggy.

A physician who was called pronounced death due to heart disease. Mr. Swartz (Swart) was past 70.

The body is to be brought here for burial.
