AN OBITUARY OF THE LATE MRS. ELIZABETH SWART

Miss Elizabeth Zollars was born July 1st, 1851 near Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. She was the youngest of a family of five children, all of whom lived to womanhood and manhood except one little boy who died in infancy. She spent most of her young life in and around Waynesburg, and was in college there for several years. She was married to Mr. *J.V. Swart, Sept. 16, 1875. Four children came to bless the home. The oldest boy, Marion, died in 1905. Mrs. Swart was a member of the Methodist church in Grinnell, for a good many years, also a member of the Congregational church of Garden Grove at one time.

She was the last of her family to pass on. She was a kind mother and wife. A good friend to all. She died on Oct. 31st, 1936, having passed her eighty-fifth birthday.

She is survived by two daughters and one son, Mrs. Eva Richardson, Clinton, Ia.; Mrs. Clyde Chadwell from near Gilman and Bert Swart from near Spencer, Ia. Also ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.She was mother and grandmother to her grandson Ross Swart during his early life, his mother having pased on when he was 2 years old. Mr. Swart preceded her in death Dec. 4, 1925. Her pleasant smile and kind words will be missed by all.
