TRESSA G. COX SERVICES HELD

Funeral services for Tressa G. Cox, 80, who died Saturday afternoon at St. Francis Manor, were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Smith Funeral Home.

The Rev. Eugene L. McClure officiated. Organist was Mrs. Kathleen Heffner, and vocalist was Mrs. Susan Capers. Pallbearers were Dennis Allgood, Stewart Buchenau, Donovan Evans, Arthur Iverson, Harold Schmidt, and Harold Stanley. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery.

The daughter of Ezra Land and Estella Beal Gable, she was born near Union Mills in Mahaska County. She attended schools near her home.

On Dec. 21, 1919, she was married to Joy Lester Cox. The couple had five children. Mr. and Mrs. Cox farmed near New Sharon until 1930 when they moved to the Grinnell area to farm. In 1960, they moved to Grinnell. While living here, Mrs. Cox worked at the Mayflower Home infirmary. She was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and the women's society of the church. She was also a member of the Literary Club.

Survivors include her children, Mrs. Donald (Lois) Allgood of New Sharon, Mrs. Roger (Erma) Lincoln of Grinnell, Gerald E. Cox of Salem, Ore., and Mrs. Charles (Marjorie) MacIsaac of Torrance, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a half-sister, Mrs. Alvin (Mabel) Briggs of Wheatridge, Colo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a son, Kenneth J. Cox.
