MRS. PAULINE MONTEI OF MALCOM DIES

Mrs. Pauline Montei passed away Monday evening at five o'clock after an illness of six years duration.

Pauline Gabrich was born in Germany in 1864 and was united (in marriage) to Mr. Valentine Suatchsue in 1882. They came to this country in 1883. To this union were born four children: John J., of Winters, Texas; Mrs. Lena Bell, of Toledo, Ia.; William C. and Mrs. Mary Callahan, of Iowa City. Mr. Suatchsue preceded her in death thirty-five years ago. Ten grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive.

In the year *1898 she was united in marriage to Mr. August Montei who also survives.

Mrs. Montei has been an invalid for many years and has been confined to her bed during the entire period. At all times she has been faithfully cared for by her husband and other kind relatives. Her burden has been difficult to bear and during the past few months she has been scarcely able to recognize her relatives and friends.

The direct cause of her death was pneumonia and her passing has brought to an end many years of suffering and fortitude.

Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock.
