MARY ANNE FOUTS

Mary Anne Fouts, 73, of Grinnell died Thursday, Dec. 12, at St. Francis Manor.

The Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with the Rev. William E. Reynolds officiating. Music was provided by St. Mary's Choir and organist Alice Renaud.

Pallbearers were Charlotte, Craig, Gene and Kelly Ford, Matthew Fouts and Leo Schmitz. Honorary bearers were Chad and Robert Arthur; Brian and Dyanne Benson; Caralyn, Charis, Clinton, Michael and Michelle Fouts; Christopher Fredrick; and Joshua Wilson.

Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Missouri Valley, with the Rev. James Kliffman of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Missouri Valley officiating.

The daughter of P.J. "Joe" and Florence Schulmeiser Morrow, she was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Mondamin. She was raised in Logan and was a 1941 graduate of Logan High School. Following her education she lived for several years in Omaha.

She was married to Earl Fouts March 29, 1942, in Logan, and the couple lived in several communities in Nebraska and western Iowa before moving to Grinnell in 1960.

She was emplyed by the alumni office at Grinnell College from 1967 until her retirement in 1986.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society and the Marian Study Club. She was also active with the American Legion Auxiliary, Theos and Pony Express. She was a volunteer at the Grinnell Historical Museum.

Surviving are her children, Karen Wilson of Albuquerque, N.M., Mike of Rapid City, S.D., John of Yuma, Ariz., Susan Benson of Milwaukee, Mary Jo Fredrick of Blaine, Wash., and Christine Ford of Montezuma; two brothers, P.J. "Pat" Morrow of Onawa and Robert S. Morrow of Leawood, Kan.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one grandson and one brother, John H. Morrow.
