Obituary dated Jan. 13, 1925

FUNERAL OF JOHN P. FORD HELD SATURDAY

John Patrick Ford was born near Searsboro, Iowa, June 14, 1868, and departed this life Thursday morning, January 8, 1925, at St. Francis hospital, Grinnell, Iowa, at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 25 days.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. M.J. Hannon of Grinnell, from the Catholic church at Searsboro, Saturday morning. Burial in the Catholic cemetery. The pall bearers were: J.M. Lynch, George McMurray, Jesse Bryan, B.J. Carney and Peter Cramer, all of Grinnell, and Jas. W. Copeland of Searsboro.

Mr. Ford had been ill for a long time and death came as a relief to his suffering. He leaves to mourn their loss, his loving wife and one son W.H. Ford and wife and daughter Ruth Marie, the last named the only grandchild and one brother, James Ford of Des Moines. Out of town relatives who attended the funeral were: Jas. Ford, wife and son of Des Moines; Mrs. C.A. Switzer and Arthur Marshall of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Laura Martin of Marshalltown, also a host of friends and neighbors of Searsboro and Grinnell.
