TREVA M. ETTING

Treva Meredith Etting, 90, of Grinnell, died Saturday, Jan. 29, at Friendship Manor.

Funeral services for Mrs. Etting will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marvin Miller, pastor of the Lynnville Friends Church, officiating.

Pallbearers will be Bruce, Denny, Don and Ervin Meredith. Honorary bearers will be Carolyn, Imogene, Marilyn and Virginia Meredith. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery in Lynnville.

The daughter of Albert and Myrle Garner Meredith, she was born March 17, 1903, in Jasper County. She was a 1921 graduate of Lynnville High School and later graduated from Highland Park College in Des Moines.

She worked as a registrar at Highland Park College before moving to Los Angeles in 1937. She was married to G. Arthur Etting on Sept. 16, 1939, in Los Angeles. She was a legal secretary for the Army Corps of Engineers, involved in the camp construction of the western division of the United States. She retired in 1972 and moved to Grinnell.

She was a member of the Lynnville Friends Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a brother, Marshall Meredith of Lynnville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her her husband; a sister, Frieda Brignon; and three brothers, Merlin, Rayford and Kenneth Meredith.
