Obituary dated March 30, 1926

MRS. DANIEL RICHMAN IS SINCERELY MOURNED

Heneretta Crawford was born at Wardensville, West Virginia, December 8, 1869 and departed this life at the home of her oldest son, Charles Richman, Monday, March 8th at the age of 57 years, three months. At the age of 20 years she, with her parents, came to Iowa where they resided on a farm near Malcom.

On September 15, 1892 she was united in marriage to Daniel Richman. The most of their married life was spent in and around this vicinity until about seven years ago. She with the family moved to North Vernon, Indiana. Mrs. Richman had been in ailing health for several years. About two weeks ago, she, with her son, Delmar arrived here to visit her son Charles and family and other relatives.

On Saturday evening she was taken suddenly ill and all that loving hands could do, was done, but to no avail, and on Monday morning at 7 A.M. she passed to her reward.

When a small girl she joined the Brethren Church, later having her membership transferred to the Christian church of which she remained a faithful member until her death. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Mrs. Richman was a woman of sterling character, accompanied by that love and understanding which was the keynote of her success in her daily activities. She now rests from her labors with her loved ones, the memories of a true wife, a loving mother and sister.

She was the mother of seven children: Charles of Tilton, Iowa, Mrs. Mildred Short, Mrs. Luella Hoffman, Edward, Delmar, Blanche and Cranford of Lovett, Indiana who were all present at the funeral. There are also ten grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, five brothers and two sisters: Branson Crawford of Admiral, Canada; James R. of Orofina, Idaho; Dan H. of Berlingame, Calif.; Leroy and Luther of Montezuma, Alberta of Grinnell and Mrs. C.L. Johnson of Newton. Her father and mother and one brother preceded her in death.

She is gone, but the memory liveth,
She is dead, but her example is here;
The sweetness and fragrance it
givith
Will linger throughout the years.

Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Montezuma, on Thursday forenoon, March 11, at 11:00 o'clock conducted by Rev. W.B. Wilson of Grinnell her former pastor. Interment was made in the Montezuma cemetery.
