BROOKLYN FARMER INSTANTLY KILLED BY LIGHTNING
George Wadsworth, a farmer living three miles south of Brooklyn, was instantly killed by lightning about noon on Sunday. Mr. Wadsworth went out to a carn crib while the storm was raging and the lightning playing freely. When he did not return an investigation disclosed his body in the corn crib. Death had evidently been instantaneous. The lightning entered the top of man's head, spread out at the base of the neck, singeing all the hair from the body and scorching the underwear, and finally left the body through one of the big toes.
The cause of death was so evident that an inquest was not undertaken.
