LAST RITES ARE HELD FOR MRS. BYE

Funeral services were held at 4:30 yesterday afternoon for Mrs. Cornelia Hunter Bye, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.C. Bennett, Tuesday morning. Rev. E.M. Vittum was in charge of the services.

Cornelia Cook Hunter was born in Warren, Rhode Island, May 4, 1848, the daughter of William and Lydia Hunter. She lived in the east for only a few years, coming to Independence, Iowa, when still a girl. She was married to George H. Bye at Independence in 1870. Soon after her marriage they came to Grinnell, and have since made their home here. Her husband preceded her in death, passing away thirteen years ago.

To this union were born six children only three of whom are now living. They are: Mrs. L.C. Bennett of Grinnell, Mrs. E.C. Nace of Wilmington, Del., and Josephine Bye of WIlmington, Del. The other children were Walter Howard Bye, who died in early manhood; George H. Jr., who died when a child; and Edith H. Bye, who died six years ago. C.F. Hunter of Waterloo, a brother of Mrs. Bye, also survives her.

Mrs. Bye was a faithful Christian, joining the Baptist church in Grinnell when the Rev. E. English was pastor. Mrs. Bye was a loyal member of the church until her death. A conscientious and loving mother, and a true friend, she was loved by all who knew her. Her life wws one well-lived, and full of the beautiful and uplifting.
