MRS. WM. BENSON CALLED BY DEATH

Hattie Belle Faircloth was born near Grinnell, Iowa, April 12, 1873 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Roy Carter, 420 West St. on Friday morning, May 24th, 1929 in the fifty-seventh year of her age. On August 5, 1897 she was united in marriage to William Benson. Four children were born to them: Mrs. Blanche Olson, Mrs. Laurin Olson, Mrs. Beryl Carter all of Grinnell and Lowell M. Benson of Los Angeles, Cal. There were ten children in Mrs. Benson's family, six girls and four boys. Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Wiar, Elizabeth Benson and one brother, Addison Faircloth preceded her in death. The surviving sisters and brothers are, Mrs. Nancy E. Sherman, Chicago, Ill., Ida Benson, Kellogg, Mrs. Josephine Crownsea, Grinnell, Jake and Beth Faircloth, Kellogg and Joshua Faircloth, Newton. Mrs. Benson has been ill for quite a long time and bore her sufferings bravely until death brought release.

Funeral services were held at the home of her daughter on Sunday afternoon conducted by the Rev. George Blagg. The hymns, "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Beautiful Isle" were sung by Miss Flora walker and Mrs. Roscoe Dempster. The pall bearers were Arthur Olson, Carl Olson, Roy Carter, Hollis Benson, Sheldon Cooper and Carroll Crownsea, sons-in-law and nephews of the deceased. Burial was made in the "Silent City" cemetery at Kellogg, Iowa.
