--Martin V. Faircloth was born in Yadkinsville, North Carolina, January 8, 1836 and died at Kellogg, Iowa, January 9, 1901, aged 65 years. He moved from his native state to Illinois in 1854. He was married to Druzzilla Musselman on October 16, 1861, who with ten children survive him. He was a kind and indulgent husband and father, a patriotic citizen and obliging neighbor. He was a soldier in the 10th Iowa, serving with honor to his country and credit to himself. Funeral services were held at the Christian church last Saturday, conducted by the pastor, Rev. F.W. Collins, after which the mortal remains were laid to rest in the cemetery north of town.
