DORA M. DOBBS

Dora M. Dobbs, 93, of 11 West High St., Marshalltown, formerly of Grinnell, died Monday, Nov. 21, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center following a stroke she suffered Nov. 9.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday at the Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bruce Feuerbach, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery, Gilman.

She was the daughter of Cornelius and Mary Ellen Johnson Wilson and was born Aug. 7, 1901, in Wayne County, Ky. She attended rural school.

She was married to Hubert F. Dobbs Aug. 22, 1925, in Newton. The couple farmed in Kentucky before moving to Grinnell. They recently had made their home in Marshalltown.

Mrs. Dobbs was a member of the Grinnell Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Beulah Hansen of Marshalltown, Mary Ann Wilmot of Lake City, Minn., and Georgia Colleen Scull of Nashville, Tenn.; three sons, Paul of Fresno, Calif., and Earl and Johnny, both of Marshalltown; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Ernest, a grandson; three sisters and four brothers.

CORRECTION

The obituary for Dora Dobbs in the Nov. 24 edition of The Herald-Register omitted the name of a surviving daughter. She is Rosa Godfrey of Marshalltown.
