L. DALE AMENDT

Cmdr. L. Dale Amendt, 57, of Pensacola, Fla., a native of Grinnell, died Saturday, April 18, at a Pensacola hospital.

A memorial service was conducted April 22 in Pensacola, with burial in Barrancas National Cemetery there.

Mr. Amendt had lived in Pensacola for several years. He served for 27 years in the U.S. Navy as an aviator before his retirement.

Surviving are his wife, Gayle of Pensacola; one son, Richard of Tampa, Fla.; one daugher, Debra A. D'Accardi of Jacksonville, Fla.; one brother, Leroy of Whittier, Calif.; two sisters, Wanda McGriff Peterson and Rosa Lollar, both of Fairfield, Ark.; and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to the Coe College Athletic Scholarship Fund in Cedar Rapids or the Blue Angel Recreational Park Animal Fund.
