The death of Mrs. Peter Noah was chronicled in last Tuesday's HERALD. She was born in Rock Island county, Illinois, December 26, 1836, and was married to Peter Noah July 29, 1856. They moved to Poweshiek county, Iowa, in 1866, settling in Washington township, where they resided until two years ago, when they moved to Grinnell. She joined the United Brethren church when sixteen years of age and remained a member of that church for ten years, then united with the Methodist church, remaining a member of that church until death. She was an earnest christian, always patient in her illness, trusting in the Lord. But a short time before her death she said she was not afraid to die. She knew she was going to "a home not made with hands, eternal in the sky." She leaves a husband and four children to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held at the house and were conducted by Elder Hughes. The husband and children wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the friends and neighbors for their kindness to them through her illness and the last few days of their sorrow.
