WALTERS, STEWART, ARMSTRONG, ARNOLD

Marretta Ann Walsh was born in Ohio June 22, 1836. She died at her home in Brooklyn, Iowa, January 22, 1929, age 92 years and 7 months.
She was united in marriage to Patrick Walsh on March 10, 1858 in Ohio. They later came to Iowa lived on a farm in Clayton County for three years and then located on a farm three miles south of Brooklyn. While a resident there she united with the Fairmont Methodist Episcopal Church.
Her husband preceded her in death 25 years ago.
In 1912 she moved to Brooklyn, where she spent her remaining years.
Five of the family of nine chilren have also preceded her in death. They are: Mrs. W.C. Walters of Victor, Iowa 1903; Willard Davis of Redfield South Dakota 1924; Edward Grant of Boise, Idaho 19--; Franklin DeForest of what Cheer, Iowa 1922; and Mrs. J.B. (Alice) Stewart of Handle, Canada 1928.
There survives to mourn her loss four children; Robert Clarence of Brooklyn, Thomas Leroy of Lyle, Minnesota, Mrs. Samuel Armstrong of Long Beach, Claifornia, and Mrs. M.J. Arnold of Boone, Iowa; 20 grandchildren, 30 greatgrandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Her son Robert, was her loving helper and companion for many years. His faithful devotion to his invalid mother, acting as her nurse and comforter has been wonderful.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist Episcopal Church of Brooklyn, Friday afternoon January 25, at 2:00, conducted by the pastor of the church. Iterment was in the Brooklyn cemetary.
