Dibble- died at his home in Scott Township, Saturday night September 22, Mr. Norman Dibble, age about 80 years.
The cause of his death is unknown. He had been working on his farm the day before and retired and was found in his bed on Sunday. He was buried on Monday, his remains followed by a large number of neighbors and friends. He was a good old man, harmless and inoffensive and industrious beyond his strength which probably accounts for his sudden demise. He was very retired and lived a quiet and peaceable life on his farm and died at a ripe old age, surrounded by peace and dignity.
Mrs. Patrick Walsh his daughter lived no great distance from him and frequently rendered friendly visits and assistance. Another daughter Mrs. Hague lives in the western part of the state. His two youngest daugthers were living with him and kept house for him.
His wife died in Ohio about 40 years ago. He emigrated to Iowa with his family in 1854 and has been living in Poweshiek County since 1865. His children return thanks to kind neighbors who aided then in the funeral obsequies and sympathize with them in their sad afflictionBrooklyn Chronicle
