MRS. JOHN BEASON DIES IN SEARSBORO

(By a Staff Correspondent).
Searsboro, Ia., Aug. 16, Special:

Sarah Meredith, daughter of Jonathan and Martha Meredith, was born July 31, 1857, and departed this life at her home in Searsboro, Ia., Aug. 12, 1929, aged 72 years and 12 days. She was born and reared in Jasper County and spent her whole life in Jasper and Poweshiek counties.

She was married to Benjamin Crews in 1881. Mr. Crews preceded her in death in 1906.

Sept. 15, 1915, she was married to John Beason. Mr. Beason passed away March 22, 1922.

She leaves to mourn her loss one son, Loren Crews who lives in South Dakota, and one daughter, Mrs. James Bennett, of Rock Island, Ill., also several grandchildren and a large number of relatives and friends.

In her early years Mrs. Beason joined the Sugar Creek Friends Church on profession of faith and has remained loyal to that faith through the years. Last words: "God has blessed, let me fall asleep."

Funeral services were held at the Friends Church Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Glenwood Stanley. Burial was in the cemetery at Lynnville.

Those who attended the funeral from a distance were her daughter, Mrs. Bennett of Rock Island, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Downer of Wyoming, Ia., Mr. Harvey Downer, Mr. and Mrs. Vic Michelson of Rock Island, Ill., Mrs. H. Wienhaur, Moline, Ill., Mrs. G. Adkins of New Sharon, Mrs. Sadie Dowd, Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Ladd, Mrs. Bert Raffety all of Oskaloosa and Mrs. Sam Schmidt of Lynnville.
