BEULAH M. SPARKS
Beulah M. Sparks, 83, formerly of Grinnell, died Sunday, March 11, at Lemon Grove Convalescent Home in Lemon Grove, Calif.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday afternoon at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Stanley Meade, pastor of the Grinnell First Baptist Church, officiating.
The daughter of Lawrence and Emma Young Bench, she was born Sept. 1, 1906, at Paris, Ark. She received her education in Paris schools, coming to Grinnell in 1930.
She was married to Donald (Ondy) Sparks, Aug. 29, 1931, in Unionville, Mo., and the couple continued to live in Grinnell.
Mrs. Sparks had been a resident of the San Diego, Calif., area for the past 16 years. While living in Grinnell, she was a member of the First Baptist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by a sister, Lois Bush of Spring Valley, Calif., and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Harold; three sisters, Jewell Faulk, Faye Gergen and one in infancy; and two brothers, W.G. and B.L. Bench.
Memorials in Mrs. Sparks's name may be left at the Smith Funeral Home.
