MRS. GEORGE WISECARVER

Lizzie Wisecarver, the daughter of Barton and Laura Sparks, was born at Grinnell, Iowa, March 18, 1889.

Her early life and girlhood were spent in Grinnell.

On May 18, 1907, she was united in marriage to George Wisecarver at Oskaloosa. During her earlier married life she lived for brief periods at Muscatine and Fairfield, Iowa, also at Trenton, Mo.

In 1913 she and her family moved back to Grinnell and she has resided her since that time.

Early in February, 1920, she suffered an acute attack of influenza which left her in a tubercular condition. In April of the same year she went to the Oakdale Sanitarium and spent six months, returning seemingly much improved. This spring it became apparent that her condition was worse and she declined steadily till on the morning of August 4 she passed away.

During her long illness her patience and courage were wonderful for she realized that she soon must leave husband and children to whom she has always been a true wife and a dear, kind mother.

She was the mother of four children, two of whom have preceded her in death.

Mrs. Wisecarver is survived by her husband, two sons, Earl and Leslie. Also by her father, Barton Sparks, three brothers, James, Merle and Donald Sparks. Also a sister, Mrs. Finley Bland of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held at the J. Wisecarver residence, Saturday afternoon and were conducted by the Rev. E.W. Cross. Mrs. E.B.T. Spencer sang "Abide With Me," and "Jesus Lover of My Soul." A large number of relatives and friends were present to attest their love and friendship for the wife and mother who has been called Higher, also for the husband and children who are thus bereft of her love and care.
