DR. ANNA SPANN DIES IN IOWA CITY HOSPITAL

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday (yesterday) at Powers Funeral Home in Oskaloosa for the Rev. Dr. Anna L. Spann of University Park, widely known minister and educator, who died Sunday at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Dr. Spann was well known in the Searsboro and Lynnville areas where she visited and spoke on many occasions.

Dr. Spann taught in University Park, in Greeleaf, Ind., at Cascade College in Portland, Ore., and headed the Bible department, served as principal and as head of the department of religion at what is now Vennard College.

She served as president of the Iowa State Holiness Asssociation for nine years and was a member of the board of the National Holiness Missionary Society for 26 years. She was also a member of the Salvation Army Advisory Board for more than 10 years.
