SERVICES FOR MRS. L. SAMPSON CONDUCTED TODAY

Funeral services for Mrs. Garnet Sampson of Grinnell were held this afternoon from the Smith Funeral Home with Dr. G.S. Bruland in charge.

Mrs. Sampson died at a local hospital Tuesday morning. She had been in ill health for the past nine years.

Music at the services were furnished by Mrs. Carl Paxon and Mrs. Dolph Miller, with Mrs. Rhee Auman as the organist. Honorary pallbearers were Hiram Broyles, Ross Coutts, Earl Kennedy and E.L. York.

Pallbearers were Clifford Ellis, James Peak, D.M. Reynolds, Ed Speth, Raymond Saunders Jr., Raymond Saunders Sr. Burial was at Hazelwood cemetery.

Born in Fremont on January 26, 1884, she was the daughter of James and Rebecca Gilbert Davis. When she was quite young, the family moved to Grinnell where she was educated in the local schools. On April 20, 1904, she was united in marriage with Lewis J. Sampson.

When in better health, Mrs. Sampson was a member of the Methodist church women's organizations and the Rebekah lodge.

She is survived by her husband and three children, Lynn of Milwauee, Wisc., Gerald of Grinnell and Mrs. Robert (Geraldine) Peak of Oelwein. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, one brother, William Davis of Phoenix, Ariz., and one sister, Mrs. Ruth Steele of Montezuma.
