SERVICES TODAY FOR JOHN TETER

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. today (Monday) at the Bickford-Murray and Ewing Funeral Home at Greenfield, Iowa, for John A. Teter, 87, of 1413 West St., who died Friday evening at Grinnell General Hospital East.

The Rev. J. Eugene Young, pastor of the Grinnell Methodist Church, officiated at the services and burial was in the Greenfield Cemetery at Greenfield, Iowa.

The son of George and Mary McCord Teter, Mr. Teter was born Oct. 12, 1881 at Coon Rapids, Iowa.

On Feb. 20, 1905, he married Dora Herron at Guthrie Center. To this union were born three children--Miss Helen Teter of Grinnell, Clifton of Orient, Iowa, and Henry, who died in December, 1967. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Teter farmed in the Greenfield community until they retired in 1952 and moved into Greenfield. Since November, 1967, they lived in Grinnell and made their home with their daughter.

Mr. Teter was a member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Dora; his daughter, Helen, and his son, Clifton.

Mr. Teter was preceded in death by his parents, a son, two brothers and one sister.
