ELIZABETH HUDSON RITES HELD

Services in memory of Mrs. Elizabeth Hudson were held Wednesday afternoon, Oct. 15 at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon, who passed away Oct. 13 following a prolonged illness.

Rev. Clem Burdine of the Presbyterian Church in New Sharon conducted the services. Rev. Burdine is a long time friend of the Hudson family, his father having preached at the Forest Home Christian Church at the time the Hudson's were rearing their family.

Casket bearers were Bill Hudson, John Gorsuch, Allen Johnson, Alvie Johnson, Raymond Younkin and Max Sarver. Flower Attendants were Mrs.Raymond Younkin, Mrs. Max Sarver and Miss Margaret Johnson.

Music was furnished by Miss Carol Jean Van Maanen.

Elizabeth Doyle Hudson, daughter of Benjamin and Amelia Doyle, was born Aug. 20,1873 in Hutchinson, Minn. and died Oct. 13, 1958.

She was a rural teacher in South Dakota, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Poweshiek County, Iowa. It was while she was teaching near Ewart, that she met and married David E. Hudson. They were married March 13, 1898. Their entire married life was spent on their farm near Forest Home. They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniverary in 1948.

Mrs. Hudson was preceded in death by her husband in July, 1951 and a son, William Benjamin in 1955.

Other children surviving are Charle Edwin of Montezuma and Grace Elizabeth Teter of Parthenon, Arkansas. There are 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

She was a member of the Forest Home Christian Church and Chapter Al of the P.E.O. sisterhood, New Sharon, Iowa.
