DEATH OF AN OLD SETTLER

Mrs. Agnes J. Finley, former resident and old settler of Grinnell, died at the home of her son, J.J. Finley, in Marshalltown, at 7 o'clock Friday evening. The body was brought to this city Monday evening, and the funeral occurred Tuesday morning a 10 o'clock from the Catholic church, interment being in the Grinnell Catholic cemetery.

Agnes J. Flynn was born in London, England, Jan. 22, 1835. she was married in England to Thomas Finley. In 1882 Mr. and Mrs. Finley came to this country, and soon after settled in this city. They continued to live here until 1900, when Mr. Finley died. Mrs. Finely remained here until about a year ago, when on account of the infirmity of age, she went to live with her son in Marshalltown.

Mrs. Finley was the mother of eight children, of whom six are living. Those who survive their mother are Mrs. Edwin Beckley, Mrs. Ellen Beverly and Thomas Finley, Aurora; James Finley, Leadville, Colo.; J.J. Finley, Marshalltown, and Michael Finley, whose whereabouts are not known. Mrs. Finely reared a grandson, John Noble, who is living in Aurora. Fourteen other grandchildren and five great-grandchildren survive her. Mrs. Finely was a member of the Catholic church of Grinnell.
