DR. PAISLEY MEMORIAL SET

Dr. James W. Paisley, 57, a retired podiatrist, died of cancer Wednesday evening, Oct.10, at his home.

The body has been donated to the Department of Anatomy at the University of Iowa. A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at the United Church of Christ-Congregational, with the Rev. Philip J. Ramstad officiating. Friends may call the Smith Funeral Home for additional information.

The son of Floyd W. and Frances Kane Paisley, he was born May 19, 1927, at Freeport, Ill. When he was 2 years old, he moved with his family to Waterloo and he attended public schools there. He graduated from Waterloo West High School.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy as a medic. He was married to Wynona E. Rich on Aug. 10, 1946, at Corona, Calif.

He attended Riverside College in Riverside, Calif., and in 1952 graduated from the Illinois College of Podiatry in Chicago. Dr. and Mrs. Paisley then came to Grinnell where he practiced until his retirement following a stroke in July 1977.

He was a member of the Grinnell United Church of Christ-Congregational, the Grinnell Elks Lodge and the Grinnell Kiwanis Club.

Survivors include his wife, Nona; three children, Sharon Ann Olson of Davenport, Carl W. Paisley of Gillette, Wyo., and James W. Paisley Jr. of Grinnell; two grandchildren; one step-grandchild; and his parents, Floyd and Frances Paisley of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Segara.
