MRS. MARSH POSTEN DIES IN TAMA

Mrs. Marsh Posten died Monday morning at her home after a long illness of cancer. Ida McKeen was born on Nov. 26, 1855, at Pine Rock, Ill. Her parents came to Iowa during her early childhood, settling on a farm near Sheridan. Here she grew into young womanhood and was married to Marshall W. Posten at Sheridan on Aug. 16, 1871. They at once went to housekeeping on a farm in Sheridan. They went to Tama in 1880 and have lived there ever since. Mr. Posten preceded his wife in death about nine months. She is survived by two children, Mrs. J.C. Thornton, of Grinnell, and Ray Posten, of Maxwell; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth McKeen, a sister, Mrs. Francis Cory; a brother, Delbert McKeen, of Tama; a granddaughter, Mrs. L.C. Thompson, of Grinnell, and two great grandchildren, Max and Anna Thompson.

Mrs. Posten was active in the Methodist church,and also active in lodge, and other social circles. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Rebekahs, White Shrine, Ladies Aid, and the Clover and Octagon Clubs.

The funeral was held from the Methodist church of Tama Wednesday afternoon.
