JENNIE PAYNE DIES AT 76

BLUE POINT (Special)--Jennie McConaghie Payne, 76, of Kingsport, Tenn., formerly of Farmington, Minn., died suddenly Aug. 28 of an apparent heart attack at her daughter's home in Brainerd, Minn., friends have learned.

Funeral services were held Aug. 31 in Farmington, with burial at the Corinthian Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 26, 1901, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James McConaghie, near Ewart. She moved to Minnesota as a young girl. Mrs. Payne had several cousins in the Grinnell area.

She is survived by her daughters, Mrs. Charles (Betty) Rewaldt of Brainerd and Mrs. Jerry (Pauline) Taylor of Kingsport; her sisters, Mrs. Ernest Gerster of Farmington and Mrs. Mabel Byad of San Diego, Calif.; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.

PAYNE RITES HELD AUG. 31

Jennie McConaghie Payne of Kingsport, Tenn., died Sunday, Aug. 28, at Brainerd, Minn.

Funeral services and burial for Jennie Payne were held in Farmington, Minn., on Wednesday, Aug. 31.

She was born near Ewart and moved to Farmington in 1913. She was the cousin of Harry Bitcon, Ralph Rutherford, Emily Taylor and Clara Russell, all of Grinnell.
