OBITUARY

ANNIE B. MCCONAGHIE

Mrs. Annie B. McConaghie, widow of Thomas McConaghie, passed away early Sunday morning in Moline, Ill., where she had made her home for the past year with her daughter, Mrs. Alma Taylor.

She was the daughter of John and Jane Boyle Bruce, and was born April 10, 1871, at Mobile, Ala. In 1893 she was united in marriage at Oak Grove with Thomas McConaghie. To this union were born three children, Mrs. Alma Taylor of Moline, Ill.; James R. McConaghie of Vicksburg, Miss.; and Bruce Thomas McConaghie of Lakewood, Calif.

Mrs. McConaghie had made her home in the Grinnell area for over 60 years. She was a member of the United Presbyterian church and was secretary and treasurer of this church for many years. She was a life member of the Rebekah Lodge and had received her 50-year "jewel." She was also a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary. She served on the board of directors of the Uncle Sam's Club when it was founded.

Survivors include her daughter and two sons; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services for Annie McConaghie were held Friday at the Grinnell United Presbyterian church with the Rev. E.E. Beattie of the Malcom Presbyterian church oficiating. Burial was made in Hazelwood cemetery.

Organist was Mrs. Eugene Holley. Pallbearers were Duane Converse, Clarence Hamor, Eugene Holley, John Peak, Martin Pearce, and John Walstra.
