MRS. HEISEL RITES TUESDAY

Evelyn Josephine Heisel, 64, of 904 East St., Grinnell, the widow of John B. Heisel, died suddenly Saturday morning (Jan. 29) at her home.

She was born in Pleasant Township, Poweshiek County, Aug. 14, 1907, the daughter of John C. and Ellen Emerson Olson. She attended the public schools and graduated from Grinnell High School in 1926. She was married to John B. Heisel and, after his death, she continued to operate the Heisel Realty and Insurance Company at 908-1/2 Main St.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Isabelle Brande Guild and the G.O. Class.

Mrs. Heisel is survived by her mother, Mrs. Ellen Olson of Grinnell; her stepson Jay Heisel of California; three sisters, Mrs. Howard (Annetta) Latcham, Mrs. Mildred Sampson, and Fern Olson, all of Grinnell; two brothers, Arthur A. Olson and Raymond Olson, also of Grinnell; and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and husband.

Services for Mrs. Heisel will be held at 2 p.m Tuesday, Feb. 1, at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. Hugh Shiveley, pastor of the church, officiating.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the Smith Funeral Home.
