GEORGE MICKEY FUNERAL RITES TO BE FRIDAY
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Smith funeral home for George Brissom Mickey, 65, who died Wednesday at a local hospital.
He is survived by his widow, Bertha. Also surviving are a brother William of Aurora, Ill., and a sister, Mildred Turner of Montezuma.
Son of the late Dan and Carrie Mickey, he was born April 21, 1892, at Keb, Iowa, near Ottumwa. He was married on September 28, 1926 at Mexico, Mo., to Bertha Anna Holland.
They came to Grinnell in January 1943 from Malcom, where they had a produce business. They had the Mickey produce business in Grinnell for several years and then for two years operated the Tastee Freeze.
He was a member of the First Assembly of God church. At the funeral services the Rev. Ralph Houghton will officiate. Burial will be in Hazelwood cemetery. Music will be provided by Mrs. Rhee Auman and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Gerard. Flower bearers will be Mrs. Dorothy Austin, Mrs. Jane Reid, and Mrs. Sarah McCarty.
Pallbearers are Ralph Allen, Charles Austin, Chris Anderson, Eldon Gerard, Fred Hagenlock, and Arnold Sevenbergen.
