RITES HELD FOR MRS. MICKEY

Bertha A. Mickey, 77, of 1419 West St., Grinnell, the widow of George B. Mickey, died early Tuesday morning at University Hospitals in Iowa City.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mickey were held at 2 p.m. today at the Grinnell Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. Sam Reaves, pastor of the church officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Sam Reaves, organist, and Mr. and Mrs. Emil Gerard, vocalists. Pallbearers were Gary Holland, Larry Holland, Paul Holland, Farris Jarrett, Edward Traut and Ralph Welcher. Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Should friends desire, memorials in Mrs. Mickey's name may be made to the Assembly of God Church.

The daughter of the Rev. Theodore K. and Mary Smith Holland, she was born March 1, 1898, in Mt. Hamill, Iowa. She attended rural school near her home and was graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School.

She was married to George Brissom Mickey in Mexico, Mo. Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Mickey lived in Keokuk, Lone Tree, Ill., and New Sharon. In 1941, they moved to Malcom, where she helped her husband in his produce business. In 1948, they moved to Grinnell where they also operated a produce business.

Following Mr. Mickey's death on May 1, 1957, Mrs. Mickey made her home available to care for elderly women in Grinnell. She was a member of the Grinnell Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Nellie M. Traut of Mt. Pleasant and Mrs. Nora M. Jarrett of Mansfield, Mo., and a brother, T. Leo Holland of Tucson, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Mrs. M. Viola Welcher; and five brothers, Jesse G., T. Harry, S. Ray, Charles B. and I. Dale Holland.
