PAUL L. RICHMAN
Paul L. Richman, 70, of North Liberty died Nov. 29, 1999 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
His funeral was Dec. 4 at Watts Funeral Home in Montezuma with Rev. Burr Bryant officiating.
Casket bearers were Bud Jahnke, Jim Beranek, Greg Roland, Chris Croy, Ed Beranek and Terry Swenson. Burial followed in Jackson Township Cemetery with military rites by Blakley-Stevens Legion Post No. 169.
Mr. Richman was born Sept. 21, 1929 in Gibson, the son of Charles and Vivian (Short) Richman. He graduated from Montezuma High School and served his country during the Korean War. On July 3, 1953, he married Joy L. Capper at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. The couple had a son and a daughter.
Mr. and Mrs. Richman spent most of their married lives near Cedar Rapids. Mr. Richman worked for many years at Colonial Baking Company in Cedar Rapids before retiring.
His wife, Joy, died March 28, 1994.
Mr. Richman moved from Solon to North Liberty, where he managed Video Land USA.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Richman; his mother, Vivian Keller; his wife, Joy: two brothers, Lowell and Lyle and two sisters, Faye Staecker and Thelma Johnston.
He is survived by a son, Scott Richman of North Liberty; a daughter and her husband, Stacy and Paul Cullins of Phoenix; two grandchildren, Tony Nieland and Alex Cullins; five brothers, Floyd of Grinnell, Dean of Montezuma, Eldon of Fort Wayne, Ind.; Francis of Brownsville, Texas and Richard of Lake Ponderosa; one sister, Alberta Beard of Brownsville; a half-sister, Vinetta Waltermire of North Vernon, Ind.; other relatives and many friends.
A memorial has been established in his name.
