RUTH CAPPER, 83

Ruth Capper, 83, of Barnes City, Iowa, died Wednesday, January 11, 1995 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center in Grinnell, Ia.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 1995 at Watts Funeral Home, Montezuma. Mr. W.R. Baughman officiated. Mrs. Kathleen Ramsey was organist. Casket bearers were Christopher Baughman, Warren Koeppen, John Koeppen, Jeff Beal, Randy Sayer and Patrick Baughman. Burial was in Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma.

Ruth was born December 2, 1911 at Quasquenton, Ia., the daughter of Charles Orlan and Laurel (Carner) Love. She graduated from Quasquenton High School and received a teaching certificate from Coe College at Cedar Rapids, Ia. On April 22, 1933, she was united in marriage with Kenneth C. Capper. They moved to Montezuma in 1947 and operated the Montezuma Dairy until it was destroyed by fire. They then operated a gas station in the south part of town, which was turned into a grocery business. She belonged to the Jehovah's Witnesses.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband in 1969; a daughter, Joy Richman on March 28, 1994; a sister, Marjorie Smith and a brother, Raymond Love.

Ruth is survived by one son, Kenton Dea Capper of Montezuma; a daughter and her husband, Lodi and Gary Deucore, Barnes City; a son-in-law, Paul Richman, North Liberty, Ia; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Peterson of Seal Beach, Calif.; and other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Jehovah's Witnesses.
