LAURINE B. OLSON
Laurine B. Olson, 98, of Grinnell died Tuesday, May 2, at Friendship Manor.
A graveside service was conducted Thursday at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Rev. Del Dawes, pastor of the Grinnell United Methodist Church, officiating. Pallbearers were Don and Tom Berry, Myron Manley, Jim Olson, Randy Reavis and Mark VanDerVeer.
The daughter of William H. and Hattie Faircloth Benson, she was born July 30, 1901, near Kellogg. She attended rural school and was a 1920 graduate of Grinnell High School.
She was married to Arthur A. "Bobby" Olson Aug. 31, 1920, in Grinnell. The couple farmed, moving to Grinnell in the mid-1930s, then returning to farming in 1947. In 1962, they moved back to Grinnell.
Mrs. Olson was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and Harmony Ladies Aid. She had served on the Brookside East Council.
Surviving are two daughters, Lucille Reavis and Betty Berry, both of Grinnell; one son, Marlyn of Kellogg; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Blanche Olson and Beryl Carter, and one brother, Lowell Benson.
