ARTHUR OLSON RITES FRIDAY

Arthur Allen "Bobby" Olson, 74, of 711 Spring St., Grinnell, died early Wednesday morning, July 17, at St. Francis Manor.

The son of John C. and Ellen Enerson Olson, he was born Aug. 21, 1899, southeast of Grinnell. He attended the rural schools near his home.

On Aug. 31, 1920, he was married to Laurine Benson in the Baptist parsonage in Grinnell. The couple had three children, Mrs. H. LaVerne (Lucille) Reavis and Marlyn "Ole" Olson, both of Grinnell, and Mrs. Lyle (Betty J.) Berry of Montezuma.

Mr. Olson made his home near or in Grinnell all his life. He had worked as a painter and wallpaper hanger, a businessman, and a farmer until his retirement in 1962. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; his three children; his mother, Mrs. John (Ellen) Olson of 904 East St.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Howard (Annetta) Latcham, Mrs. Mildred Sampson and Miss Fern Olson, all of Grinnell. He was preceded in death by his father; a sister, Evelyn Heisel; and a brother, Raymond John "Bub" Olson.

Funeral services for Mr. Olson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 19, at the Smith Funeral Home, where friends may call for additional information.

Burial will be in Hazelwood Cemetery.
