CHARLES E. BUNN
Charles E. Bunn, 77, of Grinnell died Sunday, August 28, at Friendship Manor Care Center in Grinnell.
Funeral services for Charles Bunn were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home in Brooklyn, with the Rev. John Reynolds, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Casket bearers were Mel Helm, Jim Sanders, Brian Bunn, Larry Bunn, Andrew Bunn, and William Lippincott. Interment was in Ivy Hill Cemetery at Malcom.
Charles Eugene Bunn was born May 3, 1928, in Brooklyn to John and Tressie Wheeler Bunn. He attended Brooklyn Public Schools. He worked at Amana Refrigeration and was a farm laborer. On May 3, 1964, he married Margaret McDonald. They made their home in Grinnell, where he worked for various manufacturing plants until his retirement. He entered Friendship Manor after suffering a stroke in 2003.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret; two brothers, John Jr. and Noble. He is survived by two sisters, Ruth Helm of Boone and Frances Montgomery of Otley; three brothers, Carrell of Des Moines, James of Illinois City, Ill., and Donald of Brooklyn; and numerous other family members and friends.
