DIED.

PORTER.--In Pleasant Township, Poweshiek Co., Iowa, June 2nd, 1879, Martha, wife of Adam Porter.

Mrs. Porter's maiden name as Martha Scarborough. She was born in the state of Pennsylvania, on the 24th day of November, 1832, and died at her home in Pleasant Township, June 2nd, 1879, aged 46 years, 6 months and 8 days. When quite young, her parents moved to Jefferson Co., Ohio. She was joined in marriage to Adam Porter on the 11th day of March, 1862. In April, 1870, she moved with her husband to Iowa, locating their home in Pleasant, where she resided at the time of her death. An earnest, devoted Christian, a loving and faithful wife, a kindhearted neighbor, beloved by all, has passed away.
