FORMER RESIDENT PAUL PUGH DIES
Former Grinnell resident Paul A. Pugh of San Francisco, Calif., died Sept. 1 at Midvalley Hospital after an extended illness.
Pugh, son of William and Hannah Pugh, was born Mar. 24, 1888, in Grinnell. On Sept. 21, 1906, he was united in marriage with Jessie Dickson. The couple lived on various farms in the Grinnell area until they moved to Grinnell in 1934.
Pugh then entered the trucking business, remaining in it until he moved to California in 1943. There he operated a service station with his son Farrell until his retirement in 1958.
Survivors include his wife, four children -- Mrs. Glen (Pauline) Clever, Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. Ivan (Wilma) *Wright, Orland, Calif., Farrell Pugh, North Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. John Tohmaier, Brea, Calif.; six grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sept. 3 at Noble Mortuary in San Fernando. Interment was in Glen Haven Memorial Park, San Fernando.
