DORIS PHIPPS DIES JAN. 18

Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. C. Ithel Gillespie of Newburg of the death of his sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Doris) Phipps at Port Angeles, Wash., on Jan. 18.

The Phippses lived in Grinnell until 1974 when they moved to Washington.

She was born July 17, 1919, in Poweshiek County and attended school in Newburg, Port Angeles and Grinnell, graduating in 1936. Memorial services for the family will be followed by cremation.

Mrs. Phipps is survived by her husband, Lloyd; three sons, Myles of Spokane, Wash., Mark of Eugene, Ore., and Tom of Neah Bay, Wash.; three granddaughters and one grandson; one sister, Mrs.Floyd Tychsen of Marshalltown; and her step-mother, Mrs. Edith Gillespie of Port Angeles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby and Harry Gillespie, and two sisters, Thelma Krumm and Esther Arment.
