SHANER SERVICE HELD IN WINFIELD

Elnora M. Shaner, 81, a former Grinnell resident, died Thursday, June 16, in a nursing home in Ft. Collins, Colo., after a brief illness.

Funeral services for Elnora Shaner were held Monday at 2 p.m. at th First Presbyterian Church in Winfield, Ia., with the Rev. Herbert Townsend Jr. officiating. Burial was in Winfield-Scott Township Cemetery.

She was born on June 4, 1896, in Winfield, and was the daughter of Christian and Mary Dolman Sweringen. She graduated from ISU in 1919 and taught in Tama and Winfield. She married Willis Shaner on July 9, 1921, in Burlington.

She is survived by her husband and one son, Dr. Willis W. Shaner of Ft. Collins.
