ALICE A. DOUD RITES TUESDAY

Alice Ardell Doud, 42, of 1509 Davis Ave., Grinnell, died of cancer Saturday afternoon at Grinnell General Hospital.

Mrs. Doud had been ill the past 16 months and had been hospitalized for the past six weeks.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Grinnell United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Eugene L. McClure officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Leonard Pearce, organist, and Mrs. Carol Molison, vocalist. Pallbearers were Gerald Cline, Gordon Felper, Don Hamilton, Robert E. Kriegel, Wayne F. Rechtenbach, and Gerald Wang.

Burial was at Hazelwood Cemetery, with the Smith Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The daughter of Vernon V. and Mary Alice Fogle Weilbrenner, she was born Jan. 26, 1934, in Davis County, Iowa. She attended Bloomfield High School, graduating in 1952. She was married to Robert G. Doud on Oct. 28, 1953, at Pascagoula, Miss.

Mrs. Doud was a telephone operator in Ottumwa and Newton before the couple moved to Grinnell. For the past 15 years she had been employed by General Telephone Co. as an operator in Grinnell. She was a member of the Grinnell United Methodist Church and had been a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

Survivors include her husband, Robert; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Vernon V. Weilbrenner of Udell; two children, Robert, 12, and Michelle, 7; and a brother, Charles R. Weilbrenner of Fremont.
