MRS. CARL KLAGES FUNERAL THURSDAY

Loveda Leola Van Doren, daughter of Charles and Lorena Van Doren, was born in Pella, Iowa, June 19th, 1881, and died at the St. Francis hospital in Grinnell, Iowa, Oct. 20th, 1925, at the age of 44 years, 4 months and 2 days. Her girlhood days were spent in Pella and here she grew to womanhood. She graduated from the Pella High School in 1899 and also taught for some time. At the age of fourteen she confessed her faith in Christ and united with the Methodist church at Pella where she became an active church worker. In 1901 she was united in marriage with Mr. Carl Klages at Des Moines, Iowa. To this union were born three sons and one daughter: Carl Vernon, Earl, Herbert and Irma. All are living except Carl Vernon who died in infancy. After her marriage Mrs. Klages spent the greater part of her life in Milo and Brooklyn, Iowa. It was in Brooklyn on Feb. 24th, 1922 that she was called upon to give unto the Lord her life partner. About a year ago Mrs. Klages moved to Grinnell where she resided at the time of her death. In August 1925 she became ill and in September was taken to the St. Francis hospital where she underwent an operation in the hope her life would be spared, but all that kind and loving hands could do was in vain. She bore her suffering patiently and at eight o'clock Tuesday morning she was called to her home on high, joining her Lord and husband who were waiting on the other side. Her passing was peaceful and the call came suddenly. She closed her eyes as if simply for a short rest. She leaves to mourn her loss, two sons, Earl and Herbert of Grinnell; one daughter, Mrs. W.N. York of Des Moines; a son-in-law and a little granddaughter; Father and Mother, Chas. and Lorena Van Doren of Grinnell; one brother of Cherokee; and one sister Edna of Grinnell; many other relatives and a host of friends. The funeral service was conducted at the home of the deceased, 1112 Fifth Ave. on Thursday afternoon by the Rev. W.J. Fowler of Brooklyn assisted by Rev. George Blagg. Appropriate selections were sung by Mesdames Ennis and Snook. Interment was made in the Hazelwood cemetery.

CARD OF THANKS.

We wish to thank the G.A.R. and W.R.C. and daughters of the Veterans and kind friends and neighbors for the beautiful floral offerings at the hospital and also at the funeral of our beloved daughter and mother, Mrs. Loveda Klages.
